Ooty toy train is One of India’s Most Popular Toy Trains in India and the highlight of a visit to the popular hill station of Ooty, in south India’s Tamil Nadu state. Established in the early 19th century by the British as the summer headquarters of the Chennai government, Ooty now draws tourists wanting to escape the stifling summer heat.

The railway opened 1899, and was completed in 1908. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2005.

Ooty toy train Journey was so scenic and surrounded by trees. Train passed through numerous tunnels. Luckily we got the last seat, so that I could cover the views 🙂

  • Basically FC & 2S are reserved and seats are same. We felt Ooty toy train first class seats are not that worth for the higher price. If you are fine with the extra price, you can give a try. Please see the difference in the below pics.
